Fort Scott, KS Behavioral Health Transformation Project
The hospital in Fort Scott, KS is undergoing an ambitious transformation to become a wellness center focused on meeting the needs of the community. This center will utilize a patient-centered payment system as its primary source of funding, which is intended to provide a much-needed solution for rural communities. This payment system is designed to be more affordable than traditional insurance and will focus on providing quality care while reducing costs. The new wellness center will also offer services such as preventive care and health education, as well as access to specialists and the latest medical technologies. Ultimately, this transformation aims to provide the community with better healthcare options and a healthier lifestyle.
Glendora Oaks Geriatric Psychiatry Center
This project was a full conversion of a former nursery unit to a Geriatric Psych Unit, including infrastructure upgrades. The upgrades included structural and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) changes. New chillers, boilers, generators, air handling units (AHUs), rooftop units (RTUs), and psych safe, anti-ligature finishes were added to provide an optimal care environment for geriatric patients with psych needs.
CHOC and Thompson Foundation New Autism Center
The Thompson Autism Center is distinguished by its focus on three high–need populations: undiagnosed children, those with challenging behaviors, and those with medical problems common to ASD. It provides comprehensive assessments, treatments, care plans, follow–up services, and interdisciplinary care and family support services to address ASD and its common co–occurring conditions.
